In the old days, big people is a sign of great status in politics or belonged to one of the rich people in society. As being physically fit is a sign that you are a slave or soldier by the nation.
Today, being heavy and big is common for us and people dream to become fit and muscular rather than being big and fat. What Im about to tell you is the biggest milestone of my life because in reality, the easiest thing and considered the one of the most relaxing to do is to eat.. eat.. and eat... And the impossible part is to loose weight and to target my average BMI.
In the past, people call me names like majin boo, batchoy, taba, porky, jabba the fat, hippo, baboy, and other names that you can associate with being fat, big and heavy. And its not easy for any people to grow calling you that names especially at school. I had a low self confidence back then and inorder to compensate my low self esteem is by performing above average in other aspects like study and other stuff.
As the years past by, Im getting used to that names and sometimes making fun of myself and learn to accept my appearance and myself being that big fat guy because I feel hopeless in my case that I can even loose weight. When Im stress, I tend to eat anything and everything that I want because I dont want to deprive myself for these short pleasant treats that you can offer to your life.. ( yum!!) Thats is why, people get fat when they are stress and pressure!!!

I wonder, "what will I do to get fit and healthy?, Is it worth the wait? can I do it?"
It was sunday afternoon when my friend and I had the same half day at work and we decided to go to a newly established mall near Quezon avenue. We roam and shop to that mall until I saw a tarp of looked like a coffee machine and decided to go to that tenant and wanted to asked if what coffee that they are selling. I was shocked when I saw the place coz it was a gym, not coffee shop (looked like a coffee machine on the tarp. Hehe). My friend and I went inside and asked the receptionist for the price list and the receptionist gave us a tour inside their gym. One of the wonderful thing she told me is that we have a free 2 days trial( 1 for the functional gym and the other 1 day for crossfit). Also, their prices are competitive and all of their workouts have a coach( yay for this!!). When I went home, I start to ponder. Could this gym will change my life? Will I be fit?
A few days later, I went back to Crossfit Halcyon and try their free trial and paid a membership for a month(push, Jv, Push!!) Being a big guy for such long, I easily got tired of the workout activities that I had. It felt like I am a slave driven for manual labor( just like the ancient Egypt?!).
Before getting the gym's free trial, I set my mind to loose weight and set a target to loose 60lbs in 3 months( my original weight is 220lbs..)

To loose this much, I think of ways to get down my weight. I choose to loose weight in a natural way. Diet and gym!!!
DIET
- For my meat, I only eat pink salmon and tuna.
- Nuts helped me stop my cravings and oatmeal helped me satisfy during my long working hours.
- Sometimes, I ate salads for lunch and dinner with fruits and vinaigrette.
- Sweets, pastries and cakes are strictly forbidden during my transformation months.
CHEAT DAY
- I chose to have 1 Cheat day per month( hard to stop cravings.. but I use my willpower to stop those yummy cravings that I had..)
GYM DAY
I asked my gym instructor where should I start. She told me that Inorder for me to get a slim and tone body, I must do cardio workout very often.(one of my worst nightmare... before!! but now, cardio workouts became my bff.. =p)
We had different workouts everyday with our friendly gym instructors supervision of course..
For 3 months, I pushed myself beyond my limitations. And changed me the person I am today!!( slim, semi lean, fighting machine!! hehe)
And mind you guys, During my transformation phase, it took my whole willpower, determination and big discipline to stop myself to eat tons of food everyday ( because I love to eat) and excercise( too lazy to do due to my demanding work).
I am happy of what I've become today and will continue to challenge myself beyond my limits to achieve my ultimate goal. =)
